Jobeta Sallou Martinez, 92 of Kansas City, MO passed away Friday, November 7, 2014 at Garden Valley Care Center. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO. Graveside services and burial will be in Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery on Thursday, November 13 at 11:00 a.m.
Jobeta was born May 4, 1922 in Scottsbluff, NE to Ascension and Maxine (Reyes) Guzman. After earning her Beautician’s License in Nebraska, she moved to Kansas City where she met and married Pedro Martinez. They were married 30 years when Pedro passed away in 1984. Jobeta continued as a beautician until her retirement in 1992. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Jobeta’s survivors include her son and his wife, Michael Martinez and Karen of Kansas City, MO; brother Edward Guzman of Scottsbluff, NE; three grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
