

Joe Keith Miller, known to all as Keith, was born on April 9, 1934, in Everton, Missouri, and passed away on February 22, 2025. Raised in Dadeville, Missouri, Keith’s life was a testament to service, adventure, and warmth. Before beginning a distinguished 30-year career with the Kansas City Fire Department, he honorably served in the United States Army, including a tour in Okinawa, Japan—a period that deepened his commitment to duty and shaped his resilient character.
Beyond his professional life, Keith was an avid fisherman with a passion for both fly and crappie fishing. His love for the outdoors and exploration led him on countless journeys across the United States in his cherished RV. Among his many adventures, his African safari remains a standout memory, reflecting his boundless curiosity and zest for life. A man of deep faith, Keith also found solace and strength in bible study, which was an integral part of his personal life.
Keith is survived by his devoted wife, Marjorie Miller, his loving daughter, Marilyn Rogers, and his cherished grandson, Alex Rogers. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Miller; his parents, Joe Eldridge Miller and Lorene Miller; and his brothers, Don Miller and Paul Miller.
Family, friends, and all whose lives he touched are invited to celebrate Keith’s life. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28 at 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
Keith’s gentle spirit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to those he loved will be dearly missed. His legacy of service, adventure, warmth, and faith lives on in every life he touched.
