Joseph Anthony Nalepa, aged 73, passed away on March 27, 2024 in Leawood, KS. He is preceded in passing by his mother, Stephanie, father, Joe, and sisters Connie and Cathy. His is survived by his wife, Bianca, children Trevor (April), Jodi (Quay), Meagan (Joseph), Coreena (Aaron), and Renee (Mark) and grandchildren Danika, Jeremiah, Jazlyn, Benjamin, Perrin, Danikyn, Ella, Clara, Bradley and Jonathan.
Joseph enlisted in the Air Force in 1970 and proudly served for over 23 years, including in both the Vietnam War and Desert SHIELD/STORM, primarily as a flight medic. During his tenure, he achieved the rank of Senior Master Sergeant and was awarded numerous medals for meritorious service. He was an active member of Resurrection, a United Methodist Church, where he loved volunteering as a greeter. He was also an avid volunteer with the USO, Scouts, and at the Kirkwood train station. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, building models, reading and watching movies.
The funeral service will be held at Resurrection, Wesley Chapel, April 4 at 11am. All are welcome to attend and the Nalepa family requests memorial gifts in Joseph’s honor to Folds of Honor- Kansas City.
