I remember "Sweet John" playing with my dad's team, The Locos. He was always so nice, and at the same time, the epitome of cool. (As we say in our family, "once a loco, always a loco"...) We are so sorry for your loss...  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...

John was a priceless gift from God that I will treasure forever. His eyes told a thousand stories and his smile stretched for miles. I am truly blessed to have known him and am going to miss our visits so very much...

My wife and I want to send our deepest condolences to John's family. My wife and I met John back in the 60's.I used to play basketball with him at the old John J. Ingalls school ground. He did have a mean hook shot. We played with John and Greg Hernandez, Richard Porras, Cesar Mora, Frank Garcia, Frank Espinosa, and others. Those were the good old days. Its Funny how the Royals were in the World Series one of my funniest memories was when my Dad was selling beer from his own cooler when they Won in 1985 He was walking down Penn Valley Park hill  saying  beer man  beer man like he was selling them Lol and fell all the way down sceeming Beer Man Beer man rolling down the hill never spilled a drop... My Father was the Life of the Party anyone who knew him would tell you the same..
