John W. Hardey was born June 4, 1929 in Syracuse, Missouri. He worked as auxiallry police officer for the KCPD. He was employed at Hallmark for many years. Retiring as a Color Supervisor in 1997. He spoke of his employment there often and the many changes he witnessed through his years there. John was married to Kathryn Jean Dumit, who preceded him in death in 2000. They enjoyed traveling to the southwest, particularly the Grand Canyon and loved their home at Grand Lake in Oklahoma. John was an airplane nut. He had his pilot license but gave up piloting long ago. He really enjoyed talking airplanes anytime to anyone. John and his wife did not have children but the always had dogs. They had Schnauzers and loved them like children.
John leaves behind brother in law and sister in law Dave and Sue Dumit, brother in law and sister in law Bob and Connie Dumit, one cousin, one niece, five nephews, nine great nieces and nephews and one great niece and one great nephew.
