John Yates Harshaw, 64, a former 82nd Airborne Paratrooper at Ft. Bragg, NC, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at his home in Kansas City, MO.

John leaves his wife of 35 years Pam; and 2 sons John and Phillip; brother Jerry (Doris); aunt Mary; niece Jennifer. Additional survivors include mother-in-law Mary; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and other family members. John was preceded in death by his parents John and Lawassa; sister Kay; and father-in-law Meredith.

John retired from the Ford Motor Co Claycomo Plant after 30 years of employment. He loved spending time with family, skydiving, motorcycles and his two favorite pets Toby and Max.

John’s Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4 PM Saturday, March 16th with a service at 3 PM, at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association.

In "Pop Choir" with John in school. Fond memories for several years. Doing the "Bear Song" that he always lead. Always smiling & willing to help is how I'll be remembering John. Was looking forward to riding my Harley with him. Some day we will meet again and ride together. RIP John.
