John J. (Jack) Massa

John J. (Jack) Massa, 96, passed away peacefully at Timberlake Care Center on August 24, 2015. Jack was born March 27, 1919 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, son of A. Leo and Stella Massa. He graduated from De La Salle Academy in 1936 and from Rockhurst College in 1949. He served three years as a Marine pilot in the Pacific in WWII. He was a member of Wings of Gold and an avid golfer.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joanne, and son John Paul. He is survived by his children: Toni Cowden, Mary Ann Gerber, Joe, Robert and Patrick Massa, his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth Anne, step-children: Mary Boesen, David, Tom, Buckley, and Diane Owens: 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Memorial Mass will be held Friday, August 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held prior to Mass with the Rosary being prayed at 10:00 a.m. Private burial in Calvary Cemetery.
