John Edward Johnson, 74, of Raytown, Missouri, passed away June 2, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. John was born April 5, 1937 in Kansas City, son of James Collins and Frances (Knowles) Johnson. John E. Johnson was a soft-spoken man who didn’t have to raise his voice to show his strength. He was courageous, selfless, loyal and a man of his word. He was well-respected and loved by many. Survivors include his wife, Christina M. Johnson; his five children, Gina Zarrin-Kia, Don Milum, Michael Johnson, John E. Johnson, Samantha G. Johnson; 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed but not forgotten. If friends so desire, personal donations to offset funeral costs to the family are requested in lieu of flowers.
