John V. Lucchi

John V. Lucchi, 77, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on July 21, 2026. He was born on September 4, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana.

John was a proud United States Army Vietnam veteran whose life was marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for others. He spent many years working as a sales executive, but what truly defined him were the meaningful relationships he built along the way. With a warm smile and genuine kindness, he had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and at ease.

He shared 49 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Catherine Lucchi. Together, they built a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Angie Lucchi; and his cherished grandchildren, Ella and Blake Lucchi, who were the light of his life. Being “Papa” brought him immeasurable joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be held close forever. They were the heart of his world and his greatest pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Americo and Gizella Lucchi, and his sister, Cheryl Dygulski. He is also survived by his brother, Tom Lucchi; his nieces and nephews, Tony Campiti and his wife, Jennifer; Shawn Campiti and his wife, Kyle; Denise Heyvaert and her husband, Mike; Deanne Dygulski and her son, Jake Humms; and Mike DeGraff and his wife, Tamar; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.

John’s generous spirit and compassionate heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He played a meaningful and guiding role in the lives of Tony and Shawn and was a steady, reassuring presence for many who turned to him for wisdom, encouragement, and support.

He will be deeply missed, but his love and memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 MO-150, Lee's Summit, MO 64082, on July 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, followed by the Rosary at 10:45 am and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.

Committal will take place after Mass in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd., Raytown, MO.
