John Carl Peth

John C. Peth, 85, of Santa Marta Retirement Center, formerly of Pinehurst, North Carolina, passed away May 13th, 2010. Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, May 24th, in the Santa Marta Chapel, 13800 W. 116th Street, Olathe, Kansas, 66062. John was born December 29th, 1924 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Dorothy Peth. He served in the 9th Air Force as a navigator in World War II. He married Patricia Hays in Houston, Texas on June 18th, 1949. John earned an engineering degree from the University of Pittsburgh and had a 35 year career with General Electric which included working in Cleveland, Ohio, Rio de Janiero, Brazil and Valencia, Venezuela where he was a plant manager. He was active in church and school activities, Kiwanis, and the American Legion. He and Pat were avid travelers and enjoyed playing bridge. He is survived by his wife Patricia Peth, his brother Charles Peth, his daughters Janice Angers and Pamela Wilson; his five grandchildren Diane, Pamela, Jack, Raleigh and Rachel; and great-grandchildren Eve and Hayes.
