John grew up in a loving home and graduated from Raytown High School. John enjoyed the simple things in life, such as fishing and spending time with his family. Professionally, John worked in the sheet metal industry and also at Federal Express.
John showed his love and devotion to his mother, serving not only as her devoted son but comforting companion. Nothing was too big or too small of an ask when it came to his mother. He not only ran errands for her and completed yard work, but he also was there for her to open any jar or save her from any mouse. It was the little things that counted the most and will always bring a smile to his family’s faces. John not only loved his mother, but also his loyal dog, Sam, who was one of his dearest friends.
John had a great love of fishing. With his quiet demeanor and kind hearted soul, fishing was the perfect outlet for him to find peace. Although John is greatly missed, we know he has found his forever peace fishing with the Master of the Sea.
John is preceded in death by his father John George Ryan. He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Thompson; sister, Kellie (Bobby) Swartz; nephews, Travis (Elizabeth) Ryan and David (Marissa) Swartz; along with his great-nieces Emma and Lexi Ann; and great-nephew Eli.
A memorial visitation for John will be held Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Bernadette Parish, 9020 E 51st Terrace, Kansas City, Missouri 64133, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM.
