John Henry Scheer Jr.

John Henry Scheer Jr. was born to John and Harriet Scheer in Kansas City, Missouri on September 18th 1946.

John worked as a contractor in a variety of settings over his life. His wife said he was “as handy as a pocket on a shirt”- he could build or fix anything.

John and his family resided in Liberty, Missouri. Church and faith were very important to John and he was an active member of St. James Catholic Church.

John enjoyed sharing “WIWK” stories with his children, Anna, Carrie and Stephen. From outside, he looked like a “tough” guy, but to his family he was a softy, especially to his grandchildren, Collin and Maximus. During the last year he spent many days frequenting the Corner Café and became known as “Ice Tea John”.

John was preceded in death by his father, mother and son John Scheer III and is survived by his wife of 31 years Ardith Scheer, his children, his grandchildren, brothers Matt and Mike and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed, but we have many cherished memories with him.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Saturday July 2nd at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, MO . Visitation will precede the mass from 9:30am-11:00am. Graveside services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, MO. Contributions may be made to TNC, 12404 E. US 40 Hwy Independence, MO 64055 or St. James Catholic Church 309 S.
