John, I am so very sorry to learn of your passing. It's been twenty-five years or more since we last saw each other. You were living in Texas at the time and I was passing through. We had dinner together and you shared with me your life and introduced me to a couple of your friends. You were someone who loved ideas and you were an artist. I still have the drawing you gave me. It was an honor to know you and I'm very glad we got to play basketball together. I'm sorry that our paths never again crossed as I thought they would but I know that your journey continues.
