Johnny E. “Buck” Hawkins passed away Jan. 4, 2016. Visitation will be from 1-2 PM Monday, Jan. 11, 2016 at Floral Hills Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 2 PM. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions are requested to either Heartland Hospice or Children’s Mercy Hospital. Johnny had lived in the KC area since 1946. He worked as a line worker for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1979. Johnny was an Army veteran of WWII. He was constantly working in his garden or yard and enjoyed sharing his vegetables with all of his neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ruby. Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Brenda and Bob Maloney and a sister, Lucille Neal. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all who knew him. (Arr.
