Johnny W. Schwartz

Johnny W. Schwartz, 64, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Saturday April 25, 2015. Visitation will be from 7-9 pm on May 4, 2015 at McGilley State Line Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 10200 West 75th St., Suite 100, Building B, Shawnee Mission, KS 66204.

Johnny was born March 8, 1951 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Barnsie W. and Orpha J. (Humphreys) Schwartz, their only child. He graduated from Berryville High School. He joined the United States Army and was awarded a National Defense Service Metal, Sharpshooter M-14 and Expert M-16. He was a United States Capital Police Officer in Washington DC. He married Kristine "Kris" A. Ogilvie on April 28, 1973. They moved to Kansas City in 1986, where they raised their twin sons. He continued his career as a Federal Police Officer working for the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

Johnny was a Civil War enthusiast, an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Kris; sons, Eric and wife, Dawn and Alan and his wife Lisa and 5 grandchildren sister-in-law, Lynn and brother-in-law, Joe Pineda.
