

Jonell Louise (White) Winbigler, 83, Kansas City North, passed away November 29, 2013 at the NorthCare Hospice House. Jonell generously donated her body to the Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology, University of Kansas Medical School. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 5th at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland, Kansas City, MO 64117. The family will gather with friends immediately following the Mass at a luncheon in the parish Gathering Space. In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to St. Gabriel Church.
Jonell was born August 25, 1930 in Salina, KS and had resided in Kansas City for the past 74 years. She was a graduate of the Loretto Academy. Jonell was a member of St Gabriel Church for 53 years, where she was very active in various parish ministries. She was an avid Bridge player, enjoyed volunteering at the Clay County Clothes Closet and was an energetic organizer in neighborhood activities. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Roy D. Winbigler; son, David R. Winbigler; and a sister, Marilyn Desmond.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Lynne Mills and husband, Gary, Kansas City, MO, Mary Jane Gorbet and husband, Eldon, Laurie, MO, and Whitney Harris and husband, Mike, Kansas City, MO; sister, Joyce Current, Omaha, NE; 6 grandchildren, Shane Gorbet, Karl Winbigler, Joanna Fichter, Jessica Waddell, Amy Schoneweis, and Michael Winbigler; and 9 great grandchildren, Rylee, Joey, Bodie, Sophia, Kylie, Austin, Jaxton, Allison and Lindsay.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of NorthCare Hospice House.
