Jose L. Maldonado, 69, of Kansas City, KS died Friday, November 1, 2013 at KU Medical Center. Rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Jose was born March 20, 1944 in Mexico City, Mexico to Nicholas and Emilia (Montoya) Maldonado. Jose worked for Hallmark as a die maker before managing his family’s restaurant the last 20 years. In addition to his parents, Jose was preceded in death by two brothers, infant Geraldo and Sergio. His survivors include his wife of 44 years, Beatriz, of the home; two sons, Curt Baxter of Kansas City, MO and Israel Maldonado of Kansas City, KS; daughter Angela Segura and husband Eric of Port Sur Saone, France; four brothers, Geraldo, Carlos, Victor Manuel and Nicholas; two sisters, Theresa Maldonado and Mia Maldonado, all of Mexico; and seven grandchildren.
