
On Monday, October 5th 2020, Trey Monteil aka Joseph Edmond Monteil III, loving son and brother passed away at the age of 30. Trey was born on May 19, 1990 in Kansas City, Missouri at Truman Hospital Kansas City to Joseph E. Monteil II and Kelly Marie Settgast.
Trey graduated from RayPec H.S. in May of 2008, and was Voted Class Best Friends with Earle Riley. Trey had a passion for music and was an extraordinary guitarist, electric and acoustic. Trey was also a lyricist and had written many songs throughout the years and produced one album.
Trey was also known for his special, yet sometimes annoying ability, not to lie. All you had to do was to ask him and he would tell you the truth about yourself, even it may sting a bit. You could always count on the truth from Trey. Approval from Trey Monteil was always considered “High Praise” by all who knew him.
Trey is preceded in death by his mother Kelly M. Settgast and survived by his Girlfriend Cheyenne King, Sister Hailey D. Guenther, Brother Triston E. Settgast, Grandmother Joyce M. Monteil, Father Joseph E. Monteil II, aunts, uncles and several cousins. Funeral services will be held at 3 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday October 14th at Unity Temple on the Plaza. Flowers may be sent to Monteil c/o Unity Temple on the Plaza 707 West 47th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64117. A reception will be following service in Unity Hall, Lower Level of Unity Temple.
