Joe was born in Kansas City, MO on July 15, 1992 to Robert Nugent and Kelsie Douglas. His dad, Bob, died in 2011. Joe graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 2010. He attended Johnson County Community College and earned his EMT certification in 2014. He had been recently employed in the cable industry.
Joe is survived by his brother, Anthony Nugent; his step-mother, Petrina Lopez; his grandparents, JoAnne and Larry Armel; and numerous other members of the Armel, Brocato, Nugent, Lopez and Douglas families. He will be missed by all of us.
Joe enjoyed family gatherings, cooking, holiday celebrations and being with those he loved. Like all of us, the Covid pandemic and the effect it had on many enjoyable activities was very tough for Joe.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 8 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Boulevard, Kansas City, MO 64138.
