Joseph Michael Pound was born January 25th 1980. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1998 and received an associate's degree from Longview Community College. Joe is survived by his parents Mike and Janice, his brother Christopher (fiancé Ericka and daughter Sophia and her children Austin and Brice), his children Zoey and Mason (mother Toni Pound and her son Jackson), his daughter Willow (mother and fiancé Crystal Gochenour and her children River, Jimi and Oliver), and his grandmother Ruth Spalding. He also leaves behind uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Hubert Spalding and grandparents Martin and Frances Pound.
Joe loved his job as a mail carrier for Grandview and was a proud member of the Postal Workers Union. He spent many years of his life involved in music, receiving a music and academic scholarship to Northern Arizona University. He was a percussionist for the bands Darma, Red Eye Masters 420 and Duo Trio. Joe was an avid Boston Celtics fan. His unique sense of humor and passion for life will be missed by all. Joe was raised in the St. Matthew's Episcopal Church family and was attending LifeQuest Church in Belton. He was also a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
The memorial service will be held on Sunday October 28th at LifeQuest Church, 1400 N. Scott, Belton MO. Visitation 2pm Service 3pm with food and fellowship to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to AA or NA, the American Heart Association or any school music program.
