Paul was born on June 27, 1942, to Charles and Mildred (O’Rear) Reffitt. Paul wed Marilyn Jean Manley on July 15, 1962, and they were happily married for 56 years until Marilyn’s death. Paul and Marilyn lived in and around the Raytown area where they raised their four boys. Paul was a hard-working auto mechanic for most of his life. He retired from the city of Kansas City after many years of employment.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, which included eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In his younger years, he loved taking his boys out fishing with his brothers and nephews to the strip pits in Rich Hill, MO. He was an avid sports fan; his favorites being the Kansas City Chiefs and Jeff Gordon of NASCAR. He also looked forward to opportunities to see his boys and grandsons play football. In his later years, he enjoyed being outdoors working in his garden and flower beds or grilling and smoking meat.
Paul was preceded in death by his wife, his son, Terry Reffitt, his parents, and his siblings, Norma Jean Creason, Delores Foster, Chuck Reffitt, Fred Reffitt and Mary List.
He is survived by his son Phillip (Jennifer) Reffitt of Raytown, MO; son, Kevin (Kathleen) Reffitt of Independence, MO; son, Chris Reffitt of Kansas City, MO; his brother, Don (Kathy) Reffitt of Raytown, MO; sister, Karen Kays of Maysville, MO; brother, Mike Reffitt of Lone Jack, MO; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and his faithful dog, Maggie.
