Preceding her in death were her parents, Mack and Edna Scroggins of Kansas City, MO; her brother, Charles Scroggins of New Orleans, LA. She leaves behind her sister, Jerrie (Jim) Hoenerhoff of South Lyon, MI; two nephews, Mark (Kim) Hoenerhoff and Mike (Abby) Hoenerhoff, also from Michigan; two nieces, Terri (Jeff) Hartung and Holly (Brian) Donnell of Louisiana. She also leaves behind seven great nieces and nephews, and six great-great nephews and nieces.
Joyce was a life-long resident of Kansas City, MO and worked as a LPN for over 50 years and received a certificate from the state of Missouri acknowledging her years of service. Her last job was working a number of years at Meritas Health Gashland Clinic. Her social life was built around helping others as she was a dedicated nurse. After retirement she volunteered at the Assistance League of Kansas City, where she donated a considerable amount of time. Joyce will be loved and missed by all.
A memorial visitation is scheduled from 10:00-11:00 AM Saturday, August 10th, 2024, with a memorial Mass at 11:00 AM, at St Gabriel Catholic Church, 4737 N Cleveland Ave, Kansas City, MO. Inurnment will occur on Monday, August 12th, at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO.
In lieu of flowers contributions are suggested to the Assistance League of Kansas City, St. Gabriel Catholic Church or the Human Society of Greater Kansas City.
