

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce (Romeiser) Gladish, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025 at the age of 80.
Joyce was born on September 14, 1944 in Chillicothe, MO toFrank and Delpha (Funk) Romeiser.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Gladish,her parents, Frank and Delpha Romeiser, sister Frances Kenyan and brothers-in-law John Roney and Gaylen Kenyan. She is survived by her children, Randy (Pat King) and Karen Stephens (Jeff);Grandchildren, Stephen Gladish (Miranda), Adam Ellis, Julie Harris (Brian),Jordan Stephens and Daniel Stephens; Great Grandchildren, Mikayla and Zoey Harris. Brothers Arthur Romeiser (Sarah), Frank Romeiser, Jr (Kim), and sister CathyRoney.
She graduated from Southwest High School in Ludlow, MO in1962 and moved to “the city” after graduation where she met the love of herlife (her roommate’s brother, Dale Gladish). He proposed in December of that year and they were married on February16, 1963. They spent 60 wonderful years together.
Joyce was President of D&J Fire Extinguisher, Inc. with her husband for 25 years before they retired together. They loved to travel with family and friends and their favorite destination was Palm Desert, CA. She had also collected a bottle of sand and numerous shells from the many beaches they had visited.
Joyce was an excellent cook. She always prepared family lunches at least twice a month where all the children and grandchildren would get together. Her desserts were fabulous and her servings were “nana sized” which were extra-large.
She had been an active member of the Red Hat Society as well as the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She was a dedicated member of Southview Christian Church for over 50 years and loved helping with vacation bible school, all holiday events (easter eggs), involved in SOS and provided many meals. She loved her family and was especially devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She did not know a stranger and loved lots of hugs from everyone. She touched the lives of countless people with her warmth and generosity, just an amazing person.
