
Joyce K. Jones, 71, of Kansas City, MO passed away in her home surrounded by her family and loved ones on Saturday, August 17, 2013. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 12:00 pm at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel, 11924 E 47th St, KCMO with burial at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am to 12 pm on Thursday at the chapel. Joyce was born August 10, 1942 to James L. and Allena (Hulett) Mullins. She was a lifelong Kansas City resident and the owner and president of Kansas City Electrical Supply Co. She spent her childhood summers at the Lake of the Ozarks. She was accomplished at all aspects of “the lake life” and was part of the Bagnell Dam Ski Team. Closer to home, Joyce worked at the Benjamin Ranch as a ranch hand and also a cook for the ranch. She was a participant in the American Royal showing horses, as a “barrel racer” and was a lover of all animals. She lived the last 14 years devoted strictly to her grandchildren. They would come over to her house to swim and raid the ice box. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dogs, Cocoa, Casper, “Griz” and Sandy. She is survived by her two daughters, Robin Thompson and husband, Kevin, Kaylin Crain and husband, Paul; one son, Jimmy Jones; six grandchildren, Quentin, Cameron, Tucker, Dylan, Logan, and Carmen.
