Judy Hollandsworth, of Kansas City Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 12, 2018. At 77, she had been battling several health issues for many years, but is now at rest.

Judith (Judy) Sharon Nance was born on June 19, 1941 to Thelma and Homer Nance, of Independence, Missouri. A 1959 graduate of Raytown High School, Judy was married to Lee McDaniel from 1963-1967 and lived in Kansas City, Missouri. They had two children, Kim and Scott. She married Gene Hollandsworth in 1970, and they were together for 13 years.

After high school, Judy was employed by Hallmark Cards for 10 years. She was a stay-at-home mom while Kim and Scott grew up. In 1982, she started working for the Metropolitan Community Colleges (MCC) where she advanced quickly to a Benefits Specialist. She enjoyed working at MCC, retiring after 22 years. She spoke highly of her co-workers, and made several good friends while at MCC.

Judy was a member of Faith United Methodist Church for most of her life, and helped lead the youth group for the years Kim and Scott were able to participate. She stayed connected to some of those families her whole life.

Judy is survived by her children, Kim Breitbach and her husband D.J. of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; Scott McDaniel and his wife Robin of Raytown, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Kacey, Abbey, Coby, Mitchell, Sadie, Katie, and Eliza; her sister Kathy Talbott of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; her sister-in-law Barbara Nance of Raytown, Missouri; cousins Bill Nance of Plano, Texas, and Gary Anderson of Kansas City, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Thelma Nance, and her brother Harold Nance. A graveside service for friends and family will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. The family is planning a “Celebration of Life” for Judy, to be held next month.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Judy’s name to the Salvation Army, accepted at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133.
