She was born January 21st, 1960 in Kansas City, Missouri to John T. Walters and Gloria E. Walters (Corbin). She graduated from Ruskin High School in 1978. Julie also attended the Kansas City Art Institute. Art was a great passion in her life which led to her dream job as an artist at Hallmark Cards.
She married Ted Lunn on June 8th, 1985 and gave birth to one daughter (Libby) in 1990. Julie was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1989. She never let it stop her and always kept a positive attitude. She was a caring and loving wife and mother who was always dedicated despite the challenges she faced having MS. Julie was known for her sense of humor and joy for life. She loved fashion and enjoyed putting together the perfect outfit. Making jewelry, gardening, and crafting were hobbies she enjoyed. Julie was an animal lover, especially cats. She loved getting together with her family and friends for birthdays and holiday gatherings. Julie's creative spirit and kind soul will live on in all who knew her. She is loved and will be missed.
Julie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 37 years, Ted Lunn; her loving daughter Libby Lunn; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Chris Walters, Gary and Sarah Walters, Timmy and Yada Walters, Matthew and Orna Walters; and nieces and nephews, Sam, Amelia, Meghan, Connor, Ryan, and Mollie. She is also survived by a large extended family and many close friends. Preceding her in death are her parents John T. Walters and Gloria E. Walters (Corbin).
A Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Friday, August 5th, 2022 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, August 6th, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1800 MO-150, Lee's Summit, MO 64082. A luncheon following the mass will be held at the church.
