June LaVern (Givens) Butler was born to Edgar and Mary Givens in Kansas City, MO on March 23, 1936. She grew up in the Southeast part of Kansas City where she met and married Donald Butler in 1953. After several years and with 5 kids in tow they became farmers in the Centerview and ElDorado Springs areas.
She later moved to Warrensburg where she lived and worked for 40 years. She was a long time member of Centerview Baptist Church during that time and made lots of friendships all along the way and was well loved in her community.
June is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Mary Givens; her son, Jeff Butler; her daughter, Kim Fleener; and our dad, Donald Butler. She is survived by 3 daughters and their husbands, Debi and Leon Stapleton; Pam and Donnie Brant; and Beth and Leonard Ketterman. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, Chris; Bridgette; Jason; Ryan; Gene; Kody; Calem; Sasha; and Josiah, and their spouses and 17 great grandchildren.
June was rock solid in her faith in God. She had a lot of Biblical knowledge and taught it at home and in Sunday School. One of her strongest desires was that her children and grandchildren would come to know the same kind of faith that she had in the One and Only, Jesus Christ, who came to save us to eternal life and not to condemn us to eternal judgement.
Romans 10:13 - “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
