Karen R. Dodson

Karen Rosann Dodson, age 77 passed away June 5th, 2020. She was born in Ashland, KS, grew up in Coldwater, KS, spent time in Arizona and eventually moved to the Kansas City area in the early 1970s. She is survived by her daughter, Desiree, son-in-law Terry and her grandsons Nate, his wife Aryelle, and Adam.

For many years Karen worked in the dental industry as a receptionist and office manager. Her gift of gab and memory served her well with the many, many patients and friends that came through the dental offices.

Being around her family was her greatest joy. She was an amazing “Nana” to Nate and Adam and spent countless days and nights watching their activities, sporting events or anything else they might love doing.

Karen enjoyed staying in touch with her many friends, sisters, nieces and nephews. She talked on the phone (a lot) and was a great story teller with a special flair for reminiscing about the past. Her ability to recall details was especially impressive—down to what people were wearing.

Karen led a simple life filled with the joys of friends and family and will be dearly missed by so many people. She believed in God and is now at peace.

A private Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date. The family will spread Karen’s ashes in some of her favorite places. Please consider being an organ donor.
