Born on June 17, 1958, in Kansas City, Missouri, Karen was the daughter of Glen Murray Gardner and Marjorie Lorraine Walters. She married the love of her life, Keith Eugene Kuhn, on May 18, 1982, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and devotion.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Kuhn; daughter, Kari Allen; sister, Kathy Harris; parents, Glen and Marge Gardner; mother-in-law, Charlotte Kuhn; and sister-in-law, Gwen Garrison.
She is survived by her son, Robert (Erica) Kuhn; brother, Steve Gardner; brothers-in-law, John Garrison, Dennis (Sharon) Kuhn, and Ron (Carolyn) Kuhn; sisters-in-law, Debbie Kuhn (Pamela Rabin); grandchildren, Cyrus, Norah, Harrison, and Oliver Kuhn, and Daivion Hartley; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Karen was a selfless and compassionate woman who devoted her life to caring for others. She was deeply dedicated to her family and could always be found cheering from the sidelines at her loved ones’ sporting events. Her faith was an anchor in her life, and she was an active and devoted member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Olathe, where she volunteered much of her time.
A true Kansas City sports fan, Karen loved cheering for the Chiefs and Royals. She also enjoyed collecting M&M memorabilia and had a special fondness for snowmen.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Karen’s life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, with visitation at 12:00 p.m. followed by a service at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network in her memory.
Karen will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering support of those she loved, and the joy she brought into every room she entered.
