Karl Wayne Evans

Karl Wayne Evans, age 81, of Trimble, MO, passed away peacefully at the KC VA Hospital on Wednesday evening, May 14, 2025. A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Central Assembly 1009 W. 23rd Street South, Independence, MO 64055, from 1pm - 3pm.

Karl was born in Marshall, MO and lived much of his life in Independence, MO, where he was a 1962 graduate of William Chrisman High School. During his high school years, he was an outstanding football player, earning recognition for that and his athletic talents in several other sports.

Following high school, Karl served his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He served with honor, attaining the rank of Sergeant before being discharged.

Karl is survived by a daughter, Kortni Novich (Frank) of Trimble, MO; a sister Ramona A Evans, Independence, MO; brothers Randy A Evans (Karen) of Lake Dallas, TX; and Glenn H Evans (Valeva) of Independence, MO. Granddaughter, Lynnlee Novich and Grandson, Race Novich.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond L and Alice H Evans, brothers Kenneth R Evans (Linda) and John E Evans (Carol), and spouses Carita Evans and Vicki Evans.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Shep's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary

Interment will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, with full military honors at the Higginsville Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO at 3:00 pm
