Katharine was always a very caring, giving and loving person. She would do anything she could to help someone who was in need – whether it be talking with them to help them through a problem, giving them some money so they could get what they were in need of, baking a cake (Her famous coconut cake that everyone loved!) or pie (Her famous pecan pie that everyone couldn’t eat enough of!) for them or making one of her delicious home cooked meals to put a big smile on their face! She also was an avid supporter of various veteran charitable organizations.
Katharine’s joy of her life was her children. She was a dedicated mother, and she often would say that her children was a gift from God, and that they were her pride and joy! She also was a huge fan of the Kansas City Royals – watching the Royals on TV or going to one of their games brought so much excitement to her. She also enjoyed fishing, thrift shopping, playing pokeno, reading her bible, and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alpough; one child Ron Alpough; two siblings Susie Alpough and Jimmy Ellsworth; and her parents Jimmy and Dorethea Ellsworth.
