Kathleen "Kathy" (Walters) Morris

Kathleen “Kathy” (Walters) Morris, 73, of Laurie, MO, passed away February 17, 2018. Visitation and Graveside Service will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, on Thursday, February 22nd, with Visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, with Graveside Service immediately following. An Elks Memorial service will be held at 10am at Laurie Elks Lodge #2705 in Laurie, MO on Friday, February 23rd, with a Celebration of Life and lunch immediately following.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Howard Walters, Sister LeAnn VanGerpen and beloved husband Edward Morris. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Johnson (Erik); son Jeffrey Morris (Adam); grandsons Leif and Hakon Johnson, and two adorable dogs Dorie and Tinker.

Kathy retired from Kansas City Power & Light (KCPL) in 1999 after 33 years of service which primarily focused on managing the implementation of large-scale computer systems. Kathy and Ed moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2000 where they shared many fond memories. They both became very active in the Laurie MO Elks Lodge and devoted much of their time to the various benevolent activities of the Lodge. Kathy credited KCPL for her ability to effectively assist officers, prepare grants and perform many of the required business activities of the Lodge. For fun, Kathy enjoyed playing Bridge, Gin Rummy and Shuffleboard in addition to just enjoying life on the lake.
