Kathleen (Katie) Lynch

Kathleen (Katie) M. Lynch, 83, passed away January 1, 2012in Kansas City, MO. A Memorial Mass will be 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 5 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 815 East Meyer Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to Mass at the church.

Katie was born June 29, 1928 in Peoria, Illinois to Leslie O’Reilly and Ruth Younge O’Reilly. She married Paul Lynch, August 2, 1947. Katie and Paul had three sons: Paul, Michael, and Sean. She graduated from Bishop Hogan High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Katie was involved with the family business, Dargil’s Wardrobe Cleaners until the death of her husband, Paul. She then went to work at KC Internal Medicine until she retired in 1992 as head nurse. She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents; her brother, Michael O’Reilly, and her sons: Paul and Sean. She is survived by her son, Michael; his wife, Jill Olivia and their children: Gibrette, Joseph, Chablis and Leah; 15 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and their children; as well as her beloved dog, Tommy. Katie was an above average bowler, an excellent golfer and rated master bridge player. She held dear, her poker group that played every Thursday.

The family would like to thank Grand Court where Katie lived her last years for all their love and support.
