

Kathleen Therese Schwartz, 56, passed away on March 1, 2023. Kathleen was born in Kansas City, MO on July 10, 1966, to William and Billie Fines. As a child she attended St. Matthews and went on to attend Archbishop O’Hara High School. She later pursued an education at Independence College of Cosmetology. There she became a very successful cosmetologist and teacher.
Kathleen was passionate about music and family. During her youth she toured the country with Ed McMahon and Kathy Lee Gifford, performed on Star Search and proudly sang the National Anthem at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, CA. Kathleen would also perform regularly around the Kansas City area. She was a very talented singer and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many. Anyone who knew her felt her great compassion and loving soul. She will be missed profoundly by all those who know her.
She is survived by her daughters, Laura Schwartz, Kara Schwartz and Morgan Gidley; grandson, Elijah Walker; former spouse, Stephen Schwartz; sister Patricia Brewster; brothers, Robert Fines and Jim Fines; nieces... nephews... and many friends.
A Celebration of Kathleen's Life will be held at 11:00am, Sunday, March 19th in McGilley State Line Chapel.
