Had just thought of Mr Aiello the day before I found out he had passed.  
It gave me pause as I really wasn't surprised but sad as we were to have lunch when it became warmer.
Mr Aiello was a joy to be around, we would talk about old times & people in Pleasant Valley we knew when I would come over to do  minor plumbing repairs.
Having grown up in PV (literally over the hill from the Aiello Family) Mr Aiello was always the same gracious man I remembered as a kid running the neighborhood.
After being out of the state for a number of years (leaving a single man, returning as a married man with family), was blessed to be reacquainted.
I loved how meticulous he was with all his belongings.  A true steward!
Mr Aiello was part of a special breed of men who served their country without regret (so glad he was able to make the honor flight), and returned home to raise a family, be productive at his work and become an asset to the community.  All without his hand out.
Though saddened by his passing, we share share the same Saviour.  I will see Mr Aiello again!

On behalf of the Scions of the 17th Airborne and the 17th Family; may I say we are saddened to hear of the passing of Trooper Aiello. It was an honor to meet him at the 17th reunions; and to spend time on the phone. His smile was the best. May God's Healing Hand be on his family as they grieve together now.

Kenny was the epitome of what a gentleman should be.  He was a role model for any person that wanted to be a better human being....kind, considerate, giving, loving, loyal, a true friend, and a wonderful "surrogate" Dad.  Farewell for now our special friend.  We will see you in a few short years.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Aiello.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

Grandpa,
You were a father, soldier, grandfather, and great grandfather but most of all a wonderful role model.  You always had a smile for anyone you met.  Your life was so amazing and eventful but you were so humble you would rather know about others rather than talk about yourself.  You were always there at the big moments in my life.  When I graduated from US Army basic training I was so proud to have you there the first time they called me soldier.  When Susan and I got married, you welcomed her into the family with open arms.  I find peace in knowing you are in heaven with our Lord and Savior and have grandma by your side again.  I am grateful for everything you taught me and the love you showed.  I love you!

Jan, please know our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I will miss his smile, the twinkle in his eye, and most of all, the love in his heart.  Grandpa, I hope you gave grandma a big smooch.  Love you and miss you terribly.

Granpapa, like I always told you; I was blessed to have you in my life each and every day. I have never met another person as kind, loving and caring as you were. You loved each of us with unconditional love and taught us humility and honor. You will always be my hero. I love you and am so thankful for the time I had you. I know you are living in the Glory with Grandma and those that have gone before you but you will be missed greatly. Until we meet again; I will forever carry you in my heart and cherish our memories.

My deepest condolences go out to the Aiello family as we express our fondness for Kenny. I first meet Kenny in 1995 at the 17th Airborne Reunion in Denver and always looked forward to the next time that I would see him. I always enjoyed glass or two of bourbon with him as I listened to his life story. God bless you Kenny and soft landings.
