

Kenneth Robinson Lutgen, 88 of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away April 27, 2013. Following a private family graveside, a memorial service will be held at Grace United Methodist Church at 11485 Ridgeview Road, Olathe Kansas at 2:00 pm Monday, April 29, 2013. Ken was born December 24, 1924, in Sedalia, Missouri. He was the only son of Cecil and Eunice Lutgen. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School in 1943 and enlisted in the Army. He served in WWII as a gunner in the Army Corp in the Pacific Theater and was discharged in February 1946. He married Betty Louise Rowe November 10, 1944. He attended Central Methodist College and the University of Missouri Law School. He retired from the Lumberman’s Underwriting Alliance serving as regional sales manager. Ken served on the Center School Board 1965-1968 and the Board of Directors of reStart as treasurer from 1985-1991. He was an active layman in Methodist churches holding many different positions. Ken is survived by Betty, his wife of 68 years. Ken also leaves his children Kenneth Jr., wife Linda and children Terri, Kenneth III (Christa) and Jennifer (Derek), Paul, wife Shae and children Brooke (Michael) and Justin (Stephanie), and daughter CeCile Brown, husband David and children Brianna, Bailey and Brian, and nine great grandchildren Erika, Madison, Tyler, Luke, Kyle, Gabriel, Evan, Zachary and Jackson. No flowers, donations can be given to KC Hospice and Red Bridge United Methodist Church.
