Kevin Wayne Piker, 53, passed away June 4, 2022 in Leawood, KS. He was born January 5, 1969 in Ruston, Louisiana, the son of Kenneth DeWayne Piker and Charlotte Ann Hackler. On June 7, 2021, he married Margaret (Maggie) Jo (Warren) Piker.
Kevin was a Senior Vice President Financial Advisor with RBC Wealth Management for the past 13 years. He was in the financial services industry since 1999. Prior to the financial business, Kevin crafted his skill of connecting and bringing positivity to people during his time in the Amway Business. Kevin had many passions in life that brought him ultimate happiness: His family, his work, traveling the world, gaming and music. Kevin traveled extensively across the US and Internationally. He loved new experiences and meeting new people. Which is why he was so successful in his career. Relationships with his clients always grew into being a part of his family. He loved helping others reach their greatest vision of their retirement goals and celebrating achievement with them. Equally fulfilling was the world of gaming. Kevin had friends from across the globe that he encouraged and cared for deeply. He was always the first person to welcome someone new to the community. Finally, Kevin had a gift of communicating his love through music. He loved the music of the 80s and sharing songs with those who knew him.
Kevin moved to the Kansas City area in 2000 from Springfield, MO where he spent most of his childhood. He graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1987. Kevin was active in several charities that he felt passionate about including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, where Kevin had a life changing impact on many local children battling critical illnesses, and most recently the Military Organization of Objective Zero. Although Kevin never served in the military, he had the utmost respect for all who gave everything to defend the freedoms of the United States of America.
Above all, Kevin's greatest passion was his family. As a true leader he provided support and advice, and always rallied everyone together for a good laugh. He had an irresistible presence in the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. Regardless of the topic or the situation, Kevin focused completely on the person right in front of him, always making sure they knew that nothing was more important at that moment. Kevin’s capacity for love never reached a maximum.
Survivors in addition to his wife Maggie include his two sons, Chandler Piker of Pleasant Hill, KS and Connor Dodd of Overland Park, KS; two daughters, Charisa Dodd and Lindsay Dodd of Overland Park, KS; and his father, DeWayne Piker of Springfield, MO.
