Kitty Lou McComas, 89, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on December 25, 1935, and lived in the Kansas City area her entire life.
Kitty began her career as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and later held several administrative positions. Her most notable role was with the General Motors Leeds Plant, where she worked proudly until her retirement.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Beatrice Chapter 450, of Shawnee, Kansas, and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with friends.
Kitty is survived by her two daughters, Vicky Fowler (Ronn) of Holden, Missouri, and Kimberly Price of Platte City, Missouri; her granddaughter, Justina DeLuca; her grandsons, Robert Glinn, Matthew Rippe, and Benjamin Bjork; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousin Nick Allen (JoCarol) and their children, Nicole Prohaska, Ami Allen, and Tony Allen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Kathryn “Kit” McMurtrey and her brother, Sammy Joe McMurtrey.
A private family service will take place in mid-December.
