Ladi was my TKE fraternity bother. We attended  SIU in Edwardsville,, IL same time.  Really enjoyed our friendship over the years.  RIP my friend!

Ladi has always been a gentleman and am so glad he clearly remained so. He will be sorely missed. So sorry we never got to reconnect again. It was just when we started looking for him and his then bosom friend, Babatunde Pearse that we heard of his demise. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. RIP brother, friend!!!

Ladi Shogbamimu was in our Class Set: 1974-1979 at King's College Lagos. He was my classmate and my friend. A peace loving and a perfect gentleman. Ladi was very pleasant, intelligent, brilliant  and unassuming. I am quite distressed to learn of the early departure of this rare breed.  I pray that the Almighty God will look after his immediate and extended family. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace Amen.

We enjoyed getting to know Ladi and found him to be warm, friendly and full of good humor.  He and I shared a couple of inside jokes about the soccer team that make me laugh just thinking about them.  I had the opportunity to speak with Ladi at some length a little over two months ago.  He spoke with pride about David and Davina's athleticism, scholastic achievements and the quality people they were growing up to be. He clearly took his responsibilities as a father seriously but was just as quick to share a chuckle about his and the kids unique idiosyncrasies.  It brightened our day, to see Ladi at the games.  I can still hear his laugh and see his many smiles as a result of Davina plowing into an opposing player's back.  He knew this was never a malicious act but rather a byproduct of her high octane energy and passion for the game. This was clearly a great source of pride for him.  Ladi was truly a good man.  He will be missed by all.

I am so sorry for Ladi's friends and family, especially his children, sisters, parents, and fiance.  I hope you will find strength and peace in days to come.  Best wishes.  I loved him sooo much...

My deepest condolences, especially to Ladi's fiancee, Francesca Cheroutes, and Francesca's children. Francesca's daughter, Leah, was especially close to Ladi, and surprised Francesca by flying Ladi in from Kansas City and literally presented him in a box as a belated Mother's Day gift for Francesca in June. I wish the entire Cheroutes family - who all loved Ladi dearly - strength and peace in the weeks and days to come.

Ladi and I talked about him buying a Harley and having our own motorcycle gang of two.  Some of the best times we had were having dinner with Ladi when he was in town.  I can not believe he is gone.  Kristine and I will never forget his kindness, humor, and friendship. Rest in Peace Friend

The sobriquet "gentleman" described Ladi through and through.  So, Ladi was a gentleman and a gentle man.  Always, fun-loving with an easy manner..  I will always respect his sharp ntellect and his very purposeful.  I can't ever remember a time when Ladi was standing still, he was always doing, reaching for the next plateau.  Rest in peace, "Lado".
