Lane Marrs, born November 3, 1997 to Jan and Jeff Marrs of Overland Park, passed away on September 14 after a long struggle with depression. Cherished by her family and friends, Lane was a student at the University of Arkansas and a pledge at Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She graduated from Blue Valley West High School in May of last year, playing basketball, running cross country, and playing soccer in her youth. Lane leaves so many to mourn her passing, including her parents, her younger sister and best friend Carlie, her paternal grandparents Doris and Steve Marrs, maternal grandmother Karen Hopkins, her boyfriend Reid Essmyer, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, all of whom were her joy and her comfort as she fought her disorder. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22 at Mount Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road in Kansas City, MO. The memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23 at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Avenue in Leawood, Kansas. Following the service the family invites you to join them in the Student Center at Church of the Resurrection for a meal and to share a story or memory of Lane. A memory book will also be available and all are encouraged to share their thoughts. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Lane Marrs Memorial Fund [www.gofundme.com/lanemarrsmemorial], to be used to establish resources for teens and families fighting the effects of depression and anxiety.

Arrangements under the direction of Mt Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, Kansas City, MO.

I continue to lift all of you up in prayer as you go through the next days and months ahead without Lane. She will be remembered as a wonderful daughter and how much she was loved by all that knew her. I didn't know her but feel that she knows everyone is continuing to keep your family in their thoughts in the days ahead. I know that your fund will help others in the same situation. God bless all of you, Joan Gledhill
