Larry Desneux

Visitation will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Monday, August 31, 2020 at 10:00 am. A funeral service officiated by his long-time friend and pastor David Reimnitz will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be at 12:30 pm at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., KC, MO. In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care, who provided excellent care for Larry in his final days.

Larry was born December 9, 1946 in Melrose Park, Illinois to Edwin and Geraldine (Young) Desneux. He graduated from Raytown South High School in 1964. He became a registered pharmacist from the School of Pharmacy at the University of Kansas City (UMKC) in 1968. He received a doctorate in Dental Surgery from the UMKC School of Dentistry in 1973. He married Felecia (Kinney) Desneux on June 7, 1985. Larry was a loving father to Chris, Josie, and Jonah. Larry proudly dedicated 50 years of service as a hospital pharmacist to his second family at Menorah Medical Center. Outside of his family and work, Larry’s greatest joy was his animals. He spent countless hours in the barn with his horses and whenever he was home, there was always a beloved cat or dog by his side. Larry also enjoyed photography. He was always on the lookout for life’s beautiful moments. It was not uncommon for Larry to quickly pull over to capture the perfect sunset or flower.

Larry is survived by his wife Felecia, his children Christopher (Renee), Josette (Corey), and Jonah (Alexandria), four beloved grandchildren, Hillary, Christopher Jr., Brooke, and Juliet, and sister, Nancy (JB) Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Geraldine, as well as his nephew, Kenneth Huff.
