Larry Headley

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th Street, Leawood, KS 66209, followed by burial at Forest Hill & Calvary Cemetery, 6901 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64131.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet Headley, his brother, Jack Headley, and sister-in law, Nadine Headley.

Larry was born December 18, 1937 in Webster, SD, to John and Violet Headley, and grew up in Watertown, South Dakota. After graduating from the University of South Dakota, he went on to proudly serve 2 years in the U.S. Navy.

On July 1, 1967, Larry married the love of his life, Sally (Hobson) Headley, and together they raised four children.

Larry was a true family man who enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family. Together with his wife, children, sister-in-law Nancy and brother-in-law Karl, Larry was able to travel both the US and abroad. He had a passion for pheasant and duck hunting, which he passed down to his children and grandchildren, and loved to spend time at Bigelow Farms, the hunting club to which he belonged.

He was also a dedicated work-a-holic, who retired three times before it finally “took”.

Larry is survived by his wife, Sally, his children, Richard (Jennifer) Headley, Tracy (Jared) Stotts, John (Shawna) Headley, Robert (LeeAnn) Headley, as well as their seven grandchildren, Abigail, Benjamin, Kaitlin, Laurin, Brayden, Brooklyn and Ellie, nieces Cindi, Vicki, Carol, Nancy and Peggy, as well as a large group of extended family and friends.

Larry will be incredibly missed and forever remembered.
