Larry was born June 2, 1942 in Kansas City, KS to James and Edith Vining. He was the youngest of three children, and Larry loved his brothers Rod and Charles very much. They all grew up in Rosedale, and continued to get together regularly even up until his last brother passed away in 2020. Larry and his brothers loved going to the lake, going out to eat, but most of all they loved to laugh.
Larry was a professional student and had multiple degrees in biology, physics, botany, and zoology from UMKC. He played tennis for UMKC. Larry was very good with electronics, computers, home improvement projects, and most of all he loved spending endless hours at the library doing extensive genealogy research for the family. He also loved animals, and the last several years of his life he befriended many cats and dogs at his long term care facilities which brought the biggest smiles to Larry’s face. Larry never had any children of his own but he loved his nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed getting to know his great-great niece and nephew, and loved all of the artwork and visits over the past several years.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents James and Edith Vining, his brother James “Rod” Vining, and his brother Charles Vining. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
