Lavon Lena Forste

Lavon Lena Forste passed away on Friday June 24, 2016. She was born on August 1, 1940 at Lamar Hospital in Lamar, MO. She was raised on her parents farm near Liberal, MO with her sisters Allene Phipps and Susan Pottorf. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1958. She lived most of her life in Missouri with 29 years in Springfield, MO and her last ten years in Lee's Summit, MO. Lavon worked a number of jobs in her life. These varied from waitress work, real estate sales, Avon sales and working in a hospital cafeteria. During many of these jobs she had the ability to help people laugh and make them feel better.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fern and Lester Braker, her grandparents Minnie and Chester Baker,

and a niece Janelle Pottorf.

Survivors include her three children, Lee Forste of Fort Meyers, FL, Jye (Amy) Forste of Round Rock, TX, and Jerry (spouse Kathy) Forste of Lee's Summit, MO as well as daughter-in-law Lourdes Forste of Cape Coral, FL. She had four grandchildren, Leomara Hernandez, Lenny Hernandez, Ariel (spouse Chelsea) Forste and Nikolay Forste and two great grandchildren Amin and Samiaya Hernandez.

She will be missed by many family members and friends. Lavon was an animal lover. Please make memorial gifts to Wayside Waifs of Kansas City or other animal rescue organizations.
