

Leandra G. “Lupe” Gonzales, 65, Kansas City North, passed away January 6, 2014. The Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 919 NE 96th St, Kansas City, MO, burial in Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Friday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel where a Rosary service will begin at 7 PM. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association.
Leandra was born February 27, 1948 in Mexico City and had lived in Kansas City for the past 63 years. She was a 1966 graduate of Redemptorist High School. She spent the majority of her career as an executive secretary and retired following 30 years of employment. Leandra was a dedicated wife and loving mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking for her family and her hobbies included enjoying time at the casinos, dancing, reading, listening to music and speaking French as well as 3 other foreign languages. Leandra was a loving and generous person who had many friends who loved her. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Leandra was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Elvira (Solis) Parra; brothers, Raymond Parra, Sr and Jack Parra; and son, Ricardo M. Gonzales.
Survivors include her husband, Claudio C. Gonzales; 2 sons, Vincent (Marycris) Gonzales and Gabriel (Nicole) Gonzales; 2 brothers, Anthony (Lidia) Parra and Miguel Parra; sisters, Nance Parra and Delphina (Joseph) Martinez; sister-in-law, Melissa Isbel Parra; and 5 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Christian, Alexis, Gavin Gonzales and Maxwell.
