Lena Como

Lena Como, 92, Kansas City, MO on July 23, 2011 the Lord gently took her by the hand. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26th at St Gabriel Catholic Church from 9:00-10:00 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, with burial following at Mt. Moriah Terrace Park Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the Northcare Hospice House or the Sister Servants of Mary.

Lena was a native Kansas Citian, who spent most of her working years as a seamstress for Betty Rose Coats. Lena loved spending time with her family, and occasional visits to the casinos to play her favorite slots. She was single all her life and was a loving sister, aunt, and godmother who was devoted to her family and friends. Her warm smile and concern for others will be deeply missed by all of us. Her family would like to thank her care givers at Northcare hospice house.

Lena was preceded in death by his mother and father, Albert and Mary Como, brothers, Christopher, Santo, Victor and Sam Como, and sisters, Josephine DeAngelis, Minnie Covey and Tina McKenzie. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Charles Covey, Jackie Covey, Mary Closser, Sandy DiGiovanni, Carol Puttroff, Mary and Almerigo Borgo and Zeb DeAngelis; great nieces and nephews, Charlie, Mary, Mark and Charlene Covey, Natalie and James Allen, Dan Closser, Matthew and Keith Puttroff, Angela Borgo, Albert and Gabriella Borgo, Bill and Gabbi Borgo, Joe and Sangetta Borgo, Louie and Michelle Borgo; and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Covey, Mark Covey, Michael Covey, James Allen, Isaac Allen, Keith Puttroff and Matthew Puttroff.
