Leo G. Cunningham, age 90, of Independence, MO, passed away on June 23, 2016. Visitation at 9AM with funeral at 10AM on Monday, June 27, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. Burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church. Leo was born April 20, 1926 in Pollock, MO, to Harvey & Havaleen Cunningham. He served as a Third Class Baker on the U.S.S. Indianapolis in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and American Legion. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Betty K. Cunningham, son Leo Cunningham Jr. He is survived by his sons Russell (Carolyn) Cunningham and Steve Cunningham, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Liz Kirkpatrick and Emma Lalik, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
