After retirement, he and his wife became snowbirds, spending fall and winter in Tucson and spring and summer in Kansas City.
Through the generosity of Charlotte & Richard Orear, Dr. Viril was instrumental in the creation, in 1988 of the “Orear Post Graduate Institute” that presents an annual course in Kansas City, “Recent Advances in Medicine.” Their latest annual conference was June 26-27, 2025.
