

Lillian Marie Arzola Martinez went home to be with the Lord on February 7, 2015. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Wednesday, Feb 11th at the Sheffield Family Life Center. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday at the McGilley Antioch Chapel and from 9-10 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Terrace Park Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Sheffield Family Life Center.
Lillian was born July 27, 1953 in Kansas City, MO to Rudolph and Ruth (Sesanto) Arzola and became a member of the largest Hispanic family in the Kansas City area. She worked for the North Kansas City School District as a food service manager and had also worked as a florist. She was also a devoted homemaker who loved to cook, especially Mexican food. She was always so proud of her heritage. Lillian had an especially strong love for each of her 16 grandchildren. She was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Lillian was a member of the Sheffield Family Life Center. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Arzola and brother, John Arzola.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 25 years, Robert; daughters, Michelle (Mark) Garcia, Veronica (Tony) Valles, Rebecca (Chris) Cole, and Vanessa (Anthony) Shumate; step-daughters, Robin (Jeff) Martinez-Thompson, and Reanna Martinez; her father, Rudy Arzola; 7 siblings, Jim Arzola, Rudy Arzola, Jr., Louise LePage, Valerie Chavez, Geno Arzola, Mark Arzola and Tony Arzola; and 16 grandchildren.
Lillian will be missed by her many family members and friends as well as her pets, Sammy and Lila. Lillian always had an encouraging smile for everyone. Her final goodbye: “Angels be with you.”
