

Linda was born December 31st, 1955 in Oceanside, California to Christopher Zapien and Margaret Mora Zapien. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her brother Robert. Her legacy lives on through her children, Alexandra and Steven, as well as her siblings Christopher, Mark, Matthew, Rita, and Margaret. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces, a large circle of close-knit friends, and her longtime companion Andrew.
Linda was a cherished mother, sister, friend, and nurse. She touched many lives in her career at several Kansas City hospitals and clinics. She was educated through the Kansas City Catholic Diocese schools, including Holy Rosary, Nativity BVM, and Archbishop O'Hara High School. She earned a nursing degree through Penn Valley Community College.
She was always ready to plan a party, loved to cook, and entertain friends and family. Traveling was a big part of her life, and she was an avid sports fan.
Services will be held at McGilley & Scheil Funeral Home at 11924 E 47th St. Kansas City, Missouri on Friday, July 24th. Visitation will begin at 10am, followed by internment at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a suggested contribution in Linda's name is welcome to be directed to the Nursing Program at the MCC Foundation online donation portal, or to Kansas City Hospice.
